A moment in my hands. Forever in my heart.
Hi there! I’m Caroline, I’m twenty-one years old and I’m a senior studying English Literature and Professional and Technical Writing at Virginia Tech. (Go Hokies!) I use #bookwormprobs on Twitter more than any of my followers would probably like, and I think the only thing better than a good book is a lazy Sunday afternoon to read it on.
I’m a member of Alpha Omega Epsilon, which is an engineering sorority (why is an English Lit major in an engineering sorority you ask? … Well, I have a computer science minor and I absolutely love all of my sisters and wouldn’t trade them for the world). The picture to the left is my two favorite things all rolled into one very bad hair day: my sorority (that’s our hand sign) and Harry Potter. I like to think myself as a Gryffindor, but Pottermore sorted me into Hufflepuff and honestly who am I to argue? (I think that response proves they sorted me into the right house anyways) Regardless, I’m pretty sure all of my friends get tired of listening to me ramble on about books, so I started this blog as an online book diary and an outlet for my thoughts. Welcome to my crazy mind.
I enjoy books of all genres, and I’ve found my tastes changing drastically over the past few years. So I’m not really sure what genre you’re going to get on this page because I’m not really sure what I’m going to pick up next. My philosophy is if a book can bring me to tears, or make me laugh out loud, or give me butterflies and melt my heart, it’s a pretty good book, and really that’s my only criteria: make me feel something. So that brings us to what I like to call the Caroline Scale because I’m weird and also because a 0-5 scale just doesn’t do it for me. The Caroline Scale consists of four main factors that pretty much just quantifies my book philosophy: water works, laugh factor, how heartwarming, and would I read it again. If it does well on the Caroline Scale, chances are it’s a pretty good read… or I was really emotional that day.
